Mora-Pulgar()
The morning after the night before. We have been in rural towns and our Spanish language skills have come up short, even resorting last night to ringing Eric’s mate Herman to act as a go between in the restaurant. With his help we booked a table, confirmed we wanted to be inside and tried to work out the menu.
After ordering we knew we were in trouble when the waitress drafted in a second table to accommodate all the food coming our way. Never again are you likely to see 4 hungry cyclists praying that what comes out of the kitchen next is small after consuming huge salads and leaving enough chips to keep a small branch of McDonalds in business for a morning. The basket of bread never even got touched. Despite all this, the food that followed, alcohol and coffees the bill was still only 80 euros.
Set out at 9.15 heading to Nambrica for coffee and 2nd breakfast after starting the day on cornflakes and a glass of water. Coffee, hot chocolate and cake later we set off for Toledo with terrain including a short burst of Jimmy Tours gravel.
The ancient capital of Spain, a walled city set atop a hill, full of cobbled streets and impressive old structures it welcomed 4 not so impressive old structures today. A beautiful busy & interesting city to visit if you get the chance.
Sight seeing over we set off, now travelling south, to our overnight stop in Pulgar into a strong head / crosswind for the final 15 miles of the day. This distance proved too much for one traveller and a Dumoulin (do cyclists sh*t in the woods - yes they do) moment was had roadside, 3.5 miles short of our digs. The journey continues south again in the morning.
