Orleans - Selles-Sur Cher()
Euro Day 6
All up this morning, we had a choice for breakfast, baguettes with ham and cheese or select cuts from Jim R’s BBQ. Most went for the former, there was a complaints by one about the later.
Got out of Orleans on cycle paths and into the endless flat roads of this part of France. Wouldn’t say it was boring but it was close. Plenty of community singing and the promise of lunch at "the two Jimmy’s" kept our chins up even with recovery day on the bike.
Change of plan and turned up at a random village for lunch the cliental were pensioners and workers. 4 omelettes (no colin) all round and pudding.
Short run to Selles Sur Cher to our hotel Lion D’ior. Nice wee town but several hours till dinner.
Nobody could understand the menu for tonight’s meal, but Jim R’s pal is a French teacher and sent translation. None of us could read his writing so still in the dark.
All excited about the meal, having pre drinks in the room listening to Gordons 80’s highlights
So hearty meal and off to bed. Once again French beef turns out to be as tough as old boots but cest la vie.
