Up at 06:00, brekky at boulangerie next door to hotel, and on road for 07.30
Excellent cycle paths most of the way to first coffee stop at scenic riverside cafe 38 miles .( no food )
Not only cycle paths and tarmac today JR had us doing cyclocross on grassy tracks through farmers fields,should have brought the mountain bike !!
In 33 degree heat the big yin and his boy donned the sleeveless tops and bared their guns while JR and JS kept their distance (we looked fantastic in them - sleevless boys)
First puncture of the trip - Big G went over some glass. Then he went over a massive mound of dirt and out came his bag of peanuts - so about turn to recover them.
Then statement of the trip from the big man “ look this isnae a fat belly this is malnutrition “ all I’ve had all day is a f***ing baguette.
JR keeping him on track to lose weight.
Arrived at digs - another decent air b&b. Shower, relax and watch end of the other tour. ( now eating steak and chips, the food rationing ba———rd isn’t in charge any more).

It's usually brown tracks with Jimmy ...hard to shift ....remembers me off Majorca and climbing through a tattie field carrying my bike Skinner might still have the picture
