Left our luxury Girona hotel after a fantastic breakfast - for some.  Enid has been a constant companion to the toilet seat for the last 24 hours hence did not partake.

After only about 5 minutes we were off main roads and onto fantastic gravel cycle paths, gradually climbing up to our coffee stop.  It was then that jimmy tours day of fun kicked in (a day Eric would have loved......NOT!!!!).  A really rough, rocky , sandy steep track followed the hydro electric dammed lakes.  Beautiful scenery  - the best we have seen in Spain.

The temperature today hit 40 degrees and water was getting scarce.  Thankfully the only cafe on the route was open (very much needed) for a few drinks and the Teslar topped up with Imodium.  The owner even filled our bottles with ice before we set of to complete the last 13 miles.

Thunder storms had been predicted and with about 5 miles to go things started to look grim.  We resorted to faster roads to try and beat the storm, which we just about managed.  

Conversation went as follows: 
“Who booked this?" 
Big G - “Me" 
“Where is it, what’s the address?” 
Big G - "Don’t know, how would I know, I’ve got the organisational skills of a small brown loaf".

By this time it was thunder and lightning and very, very frightening.  Massive hail stones as well. We retired to a bar to shelter.

All good now in our digs - apart from carrying the bikes up 2 flights of stairs, including the 2 ton teslar.

Carry out pizza required.  Enid fancies some of the crusts.

Average speed 10.6 miles an hour ...think Enids bowels were moving faster than that ..with him if it's no one end it's coming out off its the other ..glad today was better get rested and go again tomorrow

We have just seen the terrible weather, hail stones, storm ? etc on Spanish news. There is an orange weather warning- that disnae mean oranges will be falling from the sky !! Take care tomorrow Amigas and make sure you have plenty of drinking water . All the best from sunny Murcia.
