Kilwinning-Carlisle()
Day 1 - We left Irvine early (06.55) and got some beautiful sunny morning photos by big Al.
We had barely gone 10 miles and Big G was nearly having a scrap with a jobsworth road worker who refused to let us through causing us to do a 2 mile detour with a very steep climb - we hope he and his wee ginger apprentice got sunburnt.
First coffee stop at Sanquhar.
First mishap of the trip I ran into the back of Gordon at low speed (Tesla will always loose out when running into a truck) in Dumfries but buckled my front disc. Luckily we were only 0.5 mile from a friendly bike shop guy who put a new disc on.
Lunch stop in Dumfries and then pretty flat all the way to Carlisle.
We arrived at Carlisle hostel about 17:15 and didn't take too long before we headed out for a well earned Italian meal and a beer - which Jim R moaned about the price of all night !!

Glad you made it safely and didn’t melt. Even hotter on Tuesday though - keep drinking and that doesn’t include gin!
